That is our Vision, Values and Beliefs

In October of last year, we invited church consultant, Tom Bandy, to join our Staff and Leadership teams for a weekend of strategic planning.

Part of our conversations directed us towards redefining our DNA (our vision, values and beliefs). A cross-section of our church community was invited to come together over two weekends to re-examine what it is we really do value and believe. Below you can see where we ended up!

Our Parish Vision

Jesus says,

Greeting you with joy.

Jesus' delight in you will be seen in the way we welcome you. I greet you with joy.  This is true hospitality.  

Speaking the truth in love.

There is such a thing as Truth - and His name is Jesus Christ. We are not  ashamed to speak this truth - and we will do so in a way that shows love for the people He came to save.  He is God's Love.  Sometimes we, Christians, need to challenge and encourage one another as we walk our life in obedience to Jesus.  We can, and will, speak the truth, not about one another but to each other, in love. 

Living the spiritual life.

The life of faith in Jesus deepens and grows as we make space for Him in our daily lives.  We do this through daily practice of prayer, bible reading and a host of other spiritual habits.  We will take time each day to live the spiritual life. 

Blessing your life and relationships.

Jesus wants us to order our lives so that He and the people He has entrusted to us are placed before anything else.  We will eliminate whatever compromises these relationships and put into practice whatever strengthens them. 

Confident that the best is yet to come.

Jesus is risen from the dead. We look to the future with Hope and will live, filled with hope, in our church and in our lives. We will speak and act in ways that are persistent and courageous-looking to Christ, who is our future.

Our Bedrock Beliefs

God – almighty and loving – always and everywhere.

Amazing grace - unexpected and undeserved.

Christ is continually walking every step with us.

Jesus’ resurrection gives us joy for today, hope for tomorrow and the promise of eternal life.

Christ comes to us in the Bible, Holy Communion and our Church family.
