THEME: The Uncontrollable God 

Welcome to All Saints Anglican Church in Cochrane, Alberta for the Eighteenth Sunday after Pentecost. We especially want to welcome any guests joining us online today. In our readings today we hear two cases of supposedly unauthorized people being called out to the authority for performing deeds of power in God’s name. In both cases, we see those who complain being rebuked for it is God who puts his spirit on whom he wills, and he is not controlled by those in authority.

COLLECT OF THE DAY

Grant, O merciful God, that your Church, being gathered by your Holy Spirit into one, may show forth your power among all peoples, to the glory of your name; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever.   Amen.
