PRAYER INTENTIONS
For all who have been wounded for the sake of Christ.
THEME: Wounded
In our Gospel today, Jesus famously says that he came to serve, not to be served, and to give his life as a ransom for many. In Isaiah, we hear this means he must be wounded for our transgressions while the letter to the Hebrews explains that through this, Jesus becomes our source of eternal salvation and healing.
COLLECT OF THE DAY
Almighty and everliving God, increase in us your gift of faith, that forsaking what lies behind and reaching out to what is before, we may run the way of your commandments and win the crown of everlasting joy; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever.
